Shearers' Lunch Tomato Relish – Abigail's Outback Kitchen
Hand-made at Nogo Station, Longreach

The early shearers rations were not luxurious but, as time progressed, they could enliven their bread, meat or cheese with home-made relish. This one makes good use of tomatoes from the station garden. 

Ingredients: Tomatoes, onions, sugar, vinegar, curry powder (turmeric, coriander, salt, fenugreek, black pepper, chilli powder, rice flour, allspice, celery), mustard powder, chilli, flour, salt, turmeric.

Take home a taste of the outback with food and home-goods that celebrate the traditional homestead and outback life. Abigail’s recipes are handed down from both her grandmothers and have been perfected in the Kinnon family kitchen, sometimes with a little reinvention, always with a lot of love.
